Condor Turns 60 !!

As of March, 2017, the Condor Aero Club is officially 60 years old!  We held a special anniversary meeting on March 7th, which was attended by over 70 members and guests.  We also had a very nostalgic presentation produced by Tony Acker, and built from photographs and stories supplied by many long-term members, specifically, our Club Historian and former President, Chuck Caye, and our own Jason Jodkin. Special "thanks" to these guys, and to everyone who contributed!  The Club has seen steady growth since its inception in 1957, and is now one of the region's largest and oldest flying clubs!  Please click on the Condor 60th Anniversary link to the right to view the presentation.

As of December, 2014, Condor finished construction on a new hangar complex, and moved into our new location on the northwest side of the field.  The building is 17,000 ft2, and houses (14) T-hangars in addition to a storage bay and Pilot's Briefing Room & Lounge.  The Pilot's Lounge is heated, and includes such amenities as a kitchenette with running water, and a restroom.  The Lounge is available to Club members as well as hangar tenants.  Club aircraft are located on the south side, and our tenants occupy the north bays.  This is an exciting new era for the Club!   Please stop by and check out our new facilities.  For additional information, please check out the CondorHangars document.

Upcoming Events:

Sun 'N Fun Fly-In:  April 10-15, 2018

Lakeland Linder Regional Airport (KLAL) - Lakeland, FL
Each year, a dozen or so Condor members make the journey to Lakeland, FL for the Sun 'n Fun Fly-In.  With its proximity to the Orlando area, many members choose to fly into the Kissimmee Gateway Airport, (KISM), and stay in Orlando to enjoy the many attractions when not attending the Fly-In.  Ask around, and you may be able to find other Club members heading south in order to share expenses.  Flying into KLAL on show day is a real experience, and a comprehensive NOTAM is published outlining the special procedures.
